Imagine a healthcare system that considers all aspects of a person to be important: from "organic" disorders like stroke and endometriosis, to: "functional" disorders like chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been treating all aspects of human health and illness for thousands of years. In fact, TCM is the oldest professional, literate medicine in the world, with an active archive that is over 2000 years old. At the turn of the millennium, 1/4 of the world's population is being treated with TCM. Chinese Herbal medicine is TCM's primary modality. One of the many benefits of TCM is the ability to address each person's illness by customizing herbal formulas. Concentrated powders, the modern equivalent to traditional herbal teas, are what we are use to at the Roseman Clinic. We have 100's of individual herbs and 100's of prepared formulas on hand. Acupuncture, the insertion of fine, sterile, disposable needles at strategic points on the body is also an important technique of TCM. The combined effects of acupuncture and herbal medicine allows us to treat most disorders without unwanted side effects.
